Toyota GR Yaris Stage 1 by 4motors – First track modifications

Factory spec is just a baseline.

The Toyota GR Yaris is a car that performs sensationally in sports driving right out of the showroom. However, to highlight its greatest advantages and prepare the equipment for serious track abuse, it's worth eliminating factory limitations. Here is our recipe for Stage 1, a package that drastically improves lap times and provides massive satisfaction behind the wheel.

Step 1: Brakes and fluids

Track speeds require reliable deceleration. Standard fluid will quickly boil, and rubber brake lines will swell. We replace these immediately:

• Stainless steel braided lines: They ensure a hard, precise brake pedal regardless of temperature.
• Motul RBF660: A racing standard that handles extreme heat.

Geometry and suspension - Foundation for Semi-Slicks

If you plan to drive on 100% sports tires or semi-slicks, the factory geometry gives up. The car needs the right camber angles so the tire can work across its full width.

• Whiteline front camber bolts: Front camber adjustment bolts are an absolute must-have.
• What about the rear?: Rear adjustment bolts exist, but from our workshop experience, we know they are unpleasant to use and can loosen on their own during hard driving. At this stage, we skip them – we solve the proper rear geometry in Stage 2 using other, bulletproof components.
• Lowering springs: Lowering the center of gravity is essential. H&R springs work best on the track (the car sits lowest and is stiff). An alternative is Whiteline springs – the car sits slightly higher on them and rides a bit softer.
• Whiteline sway bars: We install adjustable front and rear sway bars to eliminate body roll in fast corners.

Useful add-ons

 Finally, we can add a few gadgets.

• K&N air filter: We throw out the factory paper and insert a more efficient filter, improving the engine's breathing.
• Forge Short Shifter: Completely changes the driving feel. It shortens the gear lever throw, making gear shifts sharp, mechanical, and lightning-fast.

Summary

This set of modifications allows the GR Yaris to shave off a lot of time compared to a completely stock car, and the cost of the entire operation remains very reasonable. Precision, stability, and driving joy increase exponentially. It is also a perfect base for building Stage 2.
